What Inspired Ande’s Marketplace?
While visiting a friend in Michigan (coincidentally, the same friend who gave me the nickname “Ande”), we were on a grocery run and she took me to a store that stopped me in my tracks. It had the charm of a farm stand, but it was so much more. We grabbed a coffee and I wandered through the bulk tea and oil/vinegar sections, and admired the diverse selection of domestic & imported produce. We dodged the temptation of the candy and fudge counter, choosing instead to drink the calories at the beer garden tucked into the garden center.
It was inviting; it was layered; and it made you want to stay. The place is called Horrocks Farm Market, and I absolutely recommend exploring this gem if you are in the Lansing area!
And as much as I loved it, over the years and various visits later, I couldn’t stop thinking:
“What if this concept could go even further & directly support Colorado producers?”
When I returned home, I searched for something similar in the Denver area that captured that same energy while deeply supporting the local supply chain.
I couldn’t exactly find it… so I decided to build it.
Ande’s Marketplace is inspired by that original experience, but also by charming European markets I’ve wandered through, and most importantly, by the people behind the products we consume every day: farmers, artisans, makers, and the teams that support them.
This is a space designed to celebrate them.

Why it exists
At its core, Ande’s Marketplace is about one thing: community.
We spend so much time focused on what’s happening at a national or global level, and while that matters, it often comes at the expense of what’s happening right in front of us.
This marketplace is an invitation to reconnect with the local.
It’s a place where people can:
Make more intentional choices about what they buy.
Learn about the challenges and realities of producers in their own state.
Feel connected to the people and stories behind their food.
A Different Kind of Grocery Experience
Modern grocery stores offer incredible convenience and variety that serves a useful and efficient purpose.
But when given the choice between saving a few cents or supporting a local producer, many people would choose to support local — as long as it feels just as easy, just as enjoyable, and just as accessible.
Ande’s Marketplace is designed to make that choice feel natural.
This is not a place to rush in and out. It’s a place to linger. To grab a coffee, explore something new, talk to a vendor, or simply enjoy being there.
We’re building an experience that combines:
- Efficiency with intention
- Convenience with connection
- Shopping with discovery
Thoughtful Food,
Less Waste
We also believe in using what we have- fully and thoughtfully.
Ande’s Marketplace will incorporate creative ways to reduce food waste, including offerings like ripe or “imperfect” produce and bundled meal ideas that make it easier to use ingredients at their peak.
Because good food shouldn’t be wasted. And small, mindful choices can lead to meaningful impact.

Meet the Founder
Ande’s Marketplace was created with a simple goal: to better connect people with the food, goods, and makers that surround them; especially here in the Rocky Mountain West.
After years of working as an attorney representing entrepreneurs and small businesses, I saw firsthand how much effort goes into building something from the ground up. At the same time, I became increasingly aware of a disconnect in the grocery industry where large retailers often source products from outside the region, even when incredible local options are available. That realization stuck with me.
I started Ande’s Marketplace to help bridge that gap by creating a space that highlights thoughtfully sourced products and supports the farmers, artisans, and producers who make our region so unique. To me, “thoughtfully sourced” means more than just where something comes from… it’s about valuing the people behind it and supporting practices that are intentional, sustainable, and community-driven.
My goal is to build something tangible and lasting: a place where people feel energized to walk in, inspired to explore, and connected to their community. I envision Ande’s Marketplace as an indoor-outdoor gathering space that celebrates the beauty and diversity of our region. A place to shop, learn, and linger.
This is just the beginning, and I’m so glad you’re here.

This Is Just the Beginning
Ande’s Marketplace is growing… starting with pop-ups, farmers markets, and collaborations with local producers.
The vision is to build a permanent space that brings all of this together: food, artistry, people, learning, and experience.
A place that feels alive. A place that feels connected. A place you want to come back to.
